Disable Windows XP
NETBIOS over TCPIP
NOTE: 29 March 2007 At this point I can not remember why I did this page but it is here for reference.
At this point I assume that
WinXP is configured with the
NetBEUI protocol. Open "Network Connections" and select the network connection to configure which will open the status window (figure 1). Select Properties which will open the properties window (figure 2).

Next, highlight "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and select the Properties button to open the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" window (figure 3). Then click the Advanced button to open the last window (figure 4).

Last, select the WINS tab and under "
NetBIOS setting" select "Disable
NetBIOS over TCP/IP". Select OK to finish up. A clean install of
WinXP has "Default" selected, but the
NetBEUI protocol is not configured.
